If you have any questions, please contact Abbey at [email protected]. Hard copies of the Consignment Agreement and Consignment Notes are available through the Shop.

SOUP BOWLS

The ‘Soup & Bowl’ stall is a highlight of Fired Up. For those who are unfamiliar, if you buy a bowl from the ‘Soup & Bowl’ stall, we will fill it with delicious homemade soup.

If you would like to be one of our Soup Bowl artists for Fired Up 2024 there are some details to know. All soup bowls will be held on consignment. Bowls can be thrown, pinched, coiled, slab, slip cast - whatever style of making you enjoy!

Bowl requirements:

  • Glazed, fired and finished.
  • Food safe glazes only.

If you would like to see an example of a small and large bowl, pop into the shop during our regular open hours and we’ll show you some samples.

Please note, if you are going to put your soup bowls through the Canberra Potters kilns, you will need to pay for them as normal through the ‘weigh and pay’ or kiln booking systems. RAKU CRITTERS
We are looking for hand builders to create raku ‘critters’ for customers to choose, glaze, have fired and take home. Artists will be paid $10 per approved piece.

The raku firing station is a great way for visitors and participants to see how ceramics transform through the firing process.

This year we’re requesting that artists make their interpretation of:

  • Koala
  • Wombat
  • Kookaburra
  • Banksia Seedpod
  • Small Planter (with hole)

All raku critters need to made of a raku suitable clay and should be approximately 8-12cm in the largest dimension. Each piece must be stamped with the Canberra Potters logo stamp (available to borrow on site only unless organised with Abbey ahead of time), the artists initials or identifying mark stamped or scratched in, and a unique number, also stamped or scratched in. E.g., if you make 3 wombats and 2 banksia pods, they should be numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. This helps our Raku Firers track participant’s pieces through the firing process.
