What is the Emerging Makers Market?

The Emerging Makers Market is a curated artisan event featuring some of Canberra’s finest emerging potters and ceramic artists. Established by the Canberra Potters, this event provides emerging clay makers with a supportive environment in which to venture into the handmade artisan world. It provides an outlet for stallholders to sell their wares, gives them the opportunity to connect with industry contacts, and is a unique opportunity for the public to meet and buy directly from the maker. 

Why get involved?

This market celebrates the up-and-coming makers from Canberra’s vibrant pottery and ceramic scene. Our events throughout 2021 and 2022 attracted over a thousand visitors over the course of each event. Our 2023 market is set to continue building on this success, with passionate visitors who love to shop local and support new makers and small businesses just like you! 

The Emerging Makers Market has been created by potters, for potters. We understand firsthand the specific challenges faced by people working with clay (drying times and kiln disasters - eek!), and our team of experienced staff can provide you with ongoing support to maximise your success. Whether being a fulltime potter is your dream, you’re wanting to set up your pottery as a side hustle, or just want to test the waters - this event is for you! This is an indoor event run onsite at Canberra Potters, with outdoor areas for food, drinks and seating.
