Hailing from Bizen, Japan, Kaz was born into a family of potters and has honed his craft through rigorous training and exploration of pottery traditions. With expertise in slipware and his original “spiral method,” he seamlessly merges the spirit of Bizen pottery with the natural beauty found in shells, glaciers, and geological formations. As a lead artist in the prestigious Oxford Anagama Kiln Project and a lecturer in universities worldwide, Kaz brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his work. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear him talk about his work and witness a demonstration of how he makes his mesmerizing sculptures and vases.
