Join us this March for a very special Clay Conversations: Market Ready Open Forum. The forum presents a panel of experienced representatives from the arts and design industries. It will be an hour-long, moderated panel followed by a Q&A, discussing all things making, selling and participating in an artisan market! The forum is a community event open to the public and is aimed at informing and educating emerging artists with examples from experienced panellists. Pottery experience is not required!
Moderator: Katrina Leske, Canberra Potters Gallery and Events Manager
Panellists: Richard Baz - Owner of The Curatoreum and director of Undercurrent Design Market, Lea Durie (Mud Dept) - professional potter and market participant, Leanne McKenzie (Gingko Cottage) - previous Emerging Makers Market participant and Jo Searle - ceramic artist, educator and co-owner of Canberra Clay Studio.
Light refreshments provided.
This forum is being run as part of our Emerging Makers Market but is open to the public. The Emerging Makers Market is a curated artisan event featuring some of Canberra’s finest emerging potters and ceramic artists. Established by the Canberra Potters, the event provides emerging clay makers with a supportive environment in which to venture into the handmade artisan world. It provides an outlet for stallholders to sell their wares, gives them the opportunity to connect with industry contacts, and is an opportunity for the public to meet and buy directly from the maker.
Clay Conversations is a lecture and conversation series featuring artists, arts professionals, teachers and more.
