2023 Christmas Fair Applications

Calling all Canberra Potters Members! Are you ready to showcase your creativity and craftsmanship at the Canberra Potters Christmas Fair?

Join us in our gallery this December, where your unique ceramic art and pottery can shine in front of a dedicated audience of holiday shoppers. At our Christmas Fair, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to sell your work in a low-pressure environment to customers looking for special and locally-made gifts.

Why choose our fair? Well, the Christmas Fair is run a little bit differently to other markets: instead of staffing your own stall, Canberra Potters supervise the market and process all transactions through the Canberra Potters POS system. As such, we keep the participation fee down to $80.00 and retain a 30% commission (70% goes directly to the artist) on all items sold. This means that if you’re not too confident with markets yet but want to see how your work sells, or if you’re too busy in the lead up to Christmas to commit your precious weekends to selling, we’re the market for you! We also have a strong reputation and a loyal following of shoppers who trust us for their holiday gift shopping, so you’re sure to sell.

All members of Canberra Potters are invited to apply to be part of the magic of the holiday season. Your handmade ceramics could be the perfect gift someone is searching for!

The Christmas Fair will be open to the public from Friday 8 December to Sunday 17 December.

Applications close 11:59PM AEDT Monday 23 October 2023. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by Friday 27 October 2023.

5-6 December: Stallholder bump-in
8-17 December: Fair open to the public daily from 10am-4pm.

19-20 December: Stallholder bump-out

Details:

  • The market is a pottery/ceramics-focused market. Any non-ceramic products sold must form a minor part of the stallholder’s products for sale.
  • Bump-in will take place on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 December. Upon acceptance of their application, stallholders must book a time with management one of these days to review and label the delivery of stock before setting up their stalls. Further details will be provided to successful applicants.
  • You must be a Canberra Potters Member to participate in the Christmas Fair. Non-members are welcome to apply for membership at any time, however must join immediately after their application acceptance and before the market invoice has been sent.
  • Each stall incurs a participation fee of $80.00, and Canberra Potters retains a 30% commission on all items sold through the Christmas Fair. Canberra Potters staff will process all transactions through the Canberra Potters POS system and provide wrapping materials (participants can provide their own if requested).
  • Stalls are allocated a space of approximately 1.8m wide (front facing) by 1m deep, and stallholders are solely responsible for the supplying, setting up and demounting of their own stall including but not limited to tables, stands and signage etc.
