Canberra Potters is seeking an Administration Officer to support operations of Canberra’s leading ceramic arts organisation. The role supports internal staff coordination and outward communications and customer experience. It is integral to maintaining and growing the program and activities of this dynamic, multifaceted and flourishing arts centre that last year celebrated 50 years of operation as a membership based organisation.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Administration Officer is appointed by the Board of Canberra Potters’ Society Inc. and reports to the CEO/Artistic Director. Through the role, the Administration Officer works with and supports the CEO/Artistic Director, the Education Director, the Marketing and Communications Manager, other staff and the Canberra Potters Board, in carrying out a range of administrative duties that support the operations, activities and community of Canberra Potters at Watson Arts Centre, in alignment with the 2026 – 2030 Canberra Potters Strategic Plan.
The role supports public inquiries, membership services, administration across a range of organisational areas, and website user experience. This critical role supports Canberra Potters’ and its team in maintaining and building its local, national and international reputation as an outstanding provider of artistic and education programs, and as a hub for community and creativity.
You will be an excellent communicator with strong experience in business administration and customer service. You will have experience in public facing roles as well as working as part of a team within an organisation or business.
You are a people person who can communicate the values and services of Canberra Potters with warmth and enthusiasm. You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team of experienced arts professionals. You will have a skillset that includes excellent oral and written communication with a focus on customer experience. You will have strong computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office programs and will ideally have experience with website administration and maintenance.
This part-time opportunity with flexible hours could be well suited to someone who is self-employed, someone returning to work or is looking to balance with other professional or personal responsibilities.
