Canberra Potters holds expressions of interest at various times throughout the year and may be in touch at a later date if work becomes available. All teaching positions are casual, and classes only run if numbers are sufficient.

Working with Vulnerable People

Canberra Potters takes its responsibility to children and vulnerable people who participate in its activities (principally pottery classes) very seriously and has policies in place that apply to all staff, volunteers and contractors who undertake ‘vulnerable people-related’ work on its behalf. Any job offer or appointment may be subject to the applicant obtaining ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration if not already held.

Canberra Potters will refuse to engage an applicant in vulnerable person-related employment if the applicant cannot obtain ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration. Canberra Potters employees, volunteers and contractors undertaking vulnerable person-related work whose registration has lapsed will be suspended from that work until proof of renewed registration is provided.

First Aid Qualifications

Canberra Potters recommends that teachers obtain suitable first aid qualifications, and keep those qualifications current.
