My Dad: A Tribute to George is an exhibition by Canberra potter Paul Dumetz. This new body of work features a series of wheelthrown cups which explore cherished memories and stories as a tribute to Paul’s late father George.

Under the guidance and assistance of his mentor Maryke Henderson, Paul’s wheelthrown work is made with a view of creating functional wares which can be appreciated in an artistic sense. He is interested in the development of unique and striking glazes which draw inspiration from traditional wood ash, salt and soda glazes, as well as telling stories through illustrative work.

Canberra Potters and Watson Arts Centre acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land where we meet and work, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people and other First Nations people who are connected with this land. We celebrate and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of the ACT and region. This is Aboriginal land. Always was always will be.
