This course teaches all the basic clay techniques for wheelthrowing, trimming and glazing.

WEEKLY
This Term Three class is held on Friday evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm for nine weeks.
Starts Friday 24 July and finishes on Friday 18 September 2020.
For this course you will need:
Your toolkit, an apron, an old towel, a microfibre cloth or handtowel, a sponge and a notebook/art journal or your ideas. Clay and tools are available for purchase during class or at the shop.
Throughout the course Suzanne will help you to explore:
Throwing and refining a range of different forms such as bowls, mugs, vases and plates. A variety of decorative and finishing techniques will also be explored. This course is designed for people who have some experience of wheel throwing (for example have completed our Introduction to Clay course).
About the teacher
Suzanne Fox
Suzanne has been an active and valuable member of the Canberra Potters community for many years She is a graduate of the ANU School of Art. A passionate handbuilder she has been teaching children and adults at Canberra Potters since 2014. Suzanne was instrumental in our successful grant application to develop and run Pottery for All a short courses for seniors and subsequent exhibition. In addition to her usual classes she teaches a weekly U3A pottery class that uses Canberra Potters workshop facilities.
