Continuing Handbuilding & Expressive Sculpture Class

Our continuing Handbuilding & Expressive Sculpture class is designed for intermediate to experienced potters who are eager to explore the full breadth of handbuilding techniques. What to Expect:

  • Comprehensive Handbuilding Techniques: Whether you’re perfecting your coiling, slab work, or pinching techniques, this class will provide in-depth instruction and plenty of hands-on practice.
  • Expressive Sculpture: Learn to infuse your work with emotion and individuality as we explore sculptural forms, abstract ideas, and artistic expression.
  • Expert Instruction: Our experienced teacher will be on hand to support your journey, offering personalised feedback and guidance tailored to your individual artistic goals.
  • Collaborative Environment: Share ideas, inspiration, and techniques with like-minded potters in a supportive and creative environment.
  • Fully Equipped Studio: Enjoy access to our well-resourced studio, including a wide range of tools, materials, and firing services to bring your creations to life.

Course Details:

  • Duration: 9-week term
  • Schedule: 3 hours per week
  • Prerequisites: This course is suitable for those with intermediate to advanced experience in pottery.

Important Details:

  • Duration: Three hours per week for nine weeks.
  • Fees: Clay and firing costs are additional and charged separately.

What to Bring:

  • Please bring your basic pottery toolkit, a cleaning sponge, an apron, and an old towel. Wear sturdy, covered shoes, tie back long hair, and leave any precious jewellery at home for safety.

Studio Clean-Up: To maintain a safe and healthy environment, it is a requirement of class attendance that participants clean their workspaces and assist with the general clean-up of the workshop at the end of each class.  Health and Safety Canberra Potters is committed to providing a safe environment for all our staff, members, and students.
