Clay Foundation classes are designed for those who have completed an Introduction to Clay course or have some basic clay skills. These courses focus on the basic skills and techniques already learned to develop and extend your ceramics skills and knowledge.

The Wheel Basics classes are designed for people with some wheel throwing experience or who have completed an Introduction to Clay class.

Tools and clay can be purchased at Canberra Potters shop or during class.

The course will focus on beginner to intermediate throwing skills. Students will learn to throw and trim mugs, bowls, vases, plates, and cylindrical forms.

With help from your experienced teacher you will learn to critique your work and troubleshoot common throwing issues. A variety of decorative and finishing techniques, including glazing, and adding handles will also be explored.

Once you complete this course you will have the skills to enrol in our Continuing Clay courses.

Clay and firing are an additional cost.

To maintain a COVIDSafe environment we ask all participants to bring their own basic pottery toolkit.
