Clay Foundation classes are designed for those who have completed an Introduction to Clay course or have some basic clay skills. These courses focus on the basic skills and techniques already learned to develop and extend your ceramics skills and knowledge.

For students who have completed an Introduction to Clay course or have some experience hand building

Tools and clay can be purchased at Canberra Potters shop or during class.

The focus of the course is on developing student skills and understanding of the three basic forms of hand building: pinching, coiling and slab building.

Students will learn techniques for making refined, strong and resolved pots and or sculptures of their own design.

Once you complete this course you will have the skills to join a continuing clay class or Advanced Hand building.

Clay and firing are an additional cost.

To maintain a COVIDSafe environment we ask all participants to bring their own basic pottery toolkit.
