Join artist Malcolm Cooke for an Artist Talk at the Canberra Potters Gallery as he discusses his remarkable 55-year journey with pottery, celebrated in his current exhibition “55” (runs 22 August to 22 September 2024).
“55” showcases a lifetime of mastery in ceramics. Featuring wheel-thrown, woodfired forms such as bottles, large jars, and platters, each piece is a testament to his many decades of artistic development. Cooke’s work is distinguished by intricate brush work, stamping, etching, and traditional inlay techniques, exploring the unique effects of ash and flame on fine decoration and glazes.
An artist talk is a wonderful way to support our artists, learn more about their thought processes and making styles for their bodies of work. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from the artist himself about his inspirations, techniques, and the stories behind his creations.
Free admission, but please RSVP for catering purposes. We look forward to seeing you there.
